There are more than 50 faculty members in the School of Mathematics,Physics and Statistics, including 43 full-time teachers, 5 professors, 19 associate professors, and 85% of teachers with doctoral degrees. Since the establishment of the college, under the care and strong support of the party and government leaders and departments of the university, all the faculty members of the college have made concerted efforts and achieved fruitful results in all aspects. A number of teachers have been awarded the honors of Shanghai Excellent Education Worker, Shanghai Yucai Award, Shanghai 38 Red Flag Woman, etc. Five teachers have been awarded the school's Outstanding Young Teachers Climbing Plan Project.

The college insists on discipline construction as a leader, focuses on the first-level disciplines of mathematics, statistics and physics, focuses on cutting-edge issues, and actively carries out scientific research. In recent years, the academic backbone has been growing rapidly, and the scientific research ability has been improved continuously, and has presided over the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Shanghai Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Shanghai Sailing Program, etc., and has achieved a large number of high-level research results, and has published more than 100 high-level academic papers in domestic and international important journals, of which more than 80 are indexed in SCI, and has published many monographs and textbooks.
