On the afternoon of March 28th, the College held a meeting for the assessment of Information and Computing Science major in Conference Room 518 of Building 15. Prof. Yang Shihai, Deputy Dean of School of Mathematics, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Director Chen Guanling of Teaching Quality Management Office of the University, and teachers of the Information and Computing Science major participated in this meeting. Prof. Gao Meina, Deputy Dean of the College presided over this meeting.

Dr. Fu Xi, Head of Information and Computing Science, firstly introduced the independent assessment of the program, including the history of enrollment of the program in our university, the positioning of professional development, distinctive programs, faculty, students, and curriculum. Then Professor Yang Shihai, Vice Dean of School of Mathematics, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, commented on the following aspects: 1) the professional quality assurance system is perfect; 2) the number of courses offered by the School of Computer and Information Engineering can be increased to further cross-fertilize with the School of Mathematics and Statistics and to make distinctive programs; and 3) Municipal-level course construction projects should be better planned . Then the teachers of Information and Computing Science discussed on the situation of undertaking professional courses, the academic situation of students, the construction of courses, and the pain points and difficulties encountered in the courses. Finally, Director Chen Guanling of Teaching Quality Management Office of the university made a conclusion. she agreeded with the suggestions raised by Professor Yang Shihai and hoped that the Information and Computing Science major could make more improvements according to the above suggestions in the subsequent construction process.
